National Apprenticeship Week (NAW)
We celebrate and appreciate the contribution our talented apprentices make to the business. During NAW we support the national campaign by showcasing them and sharing individual stories online. Read about #NAW20, #NAW19, #NAW18
International Women’s Day (IWD)
We promote positive cultural values. The IWD national campaign which we are proud to say has been shortlisted for a Law Society Excellence award, provides the opportunity to raise the awareness of everyday and trailblazing women.
Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW)
Achieving a healthy work life balance is part of our working culture. During MHAW we look for ways to promote mental and physical health by sharing practical tips and by encouraging colleagues to get involved in activities.
Our commitment to CSR (Corporate and Social Responsibility)
We believe that giving back to the communities in which we work and live is very important and as a business we take part in individual events to support local causes, and help colleagues fund raise for charities they feel passionate about.
The HMEEC (Employee Engagement Committee) exists to encourage employees to be involved in the development of both people and charity related CSR initiatives across the business.
Staff choose to support local initiatives, including fundraising for the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity to help bring a world-class facility to Liverpool.
In 2018 staff voted to support Jamie’s SDR Journey, helping him and his family to raise £60K for a specialist operation to improve his quality of life. The good news is, Jamie and his family achieved this target and following his operation, he is undergoing physiotherapy.
HM is the First SPO Workplace Champion in the World
HM is committed to taking part in the Sustainable Palm Oil (SPO) City project and took the Sustainable Palm Oil Challenge led by Chester Zoo.
The HM SPO Group (HMSPOG) has been working with the project leaders to switch to more SPO products, is working with suppliers to so the same, and is encouraging other workplaces to follow suit. We are proud to have supported the campaign which has resulted in Chester becoming the first Sustainable Palm Oil City in the World.
