Since September 2016 we have been involved in raising funds, taking the challenge to turn £50 into £1,000 in 6 months.
Hillyer McKeown has supported Clatterbridge Cancer Charity for years. When the charity asked us to take part in 2016 Corporate Challenge we were pleased to get on board. The first ever Corporate Challenge was in 2015 and was a phenomenal success. Over £30,000 was raised to fund the state of the art Varian Edge radiotherapy machine.
What is the Clatterbridge Centre?
Clatterbridge Cancer Care Centre is more than a cancer hospital. It operates from 10 sites across Merseyside and Cheshire providing treatment and care to over 30,000 patients a year. The Centre is the only charity dedicated to patients and research. It is also at the forefront of offering pioneering chemotherapy, radiotherapy and proton therapy treatments.

Why the Corporate Challenge?
In 2016 the Challenge is to help Clatterbridge Cancer Charity raise £40,000 to fund The Lounge which will provide an important social space for Clatterbridge’s most unwell patients.
Wendy, who is co-ordinating the Challenge at Hillyer McKeown said, “as the Centre is not fully funded by the NHS, it needs to raise substantial funds. Our fundraising across all offices will go toward carrying on the brilliant, life saving work it does already. It will also help expand and transform cancer care for patients across the North West.”
We’re off to a flying start!
Thanks to the generosity of colleagues, so far we are off to a flying start. We have held raffles, dress down days, cake bakes. More fundraising events are in the pipeline so that we can do our small part in adding to the funds raised for the Lounge.
