Meet Bill Pearson, HM Growth Associate
HM Growth (HMG) was created to meet the evolving needs of small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) and owner-managed businesses (OMBs) throughout Cheshire, Merseyside and North Wales.
The team has an ambitious goal: to be the first team people contact for specialist support and guidance through a period of business change. Client feedback suggests that the HMG team is easy to engage with, relevant and valued.
My experience and role within HM Growth
I have 30+ years multi-sector, multi-national experience as both an internal and external consultant, and an ‘agent for change’.
I have worked with many boards of directors helping them to design and implement major transformations to their business models. I am skilled in aligning management teams and staff on common objectives, supporting them to attain the growth they are looking for – these are skills borne out of multiple change programmes.
I am an Accredited Programme and Project Manager, and a Chartered Mechanical Engineer who applies formal programme and project management techniques to make sure that the desired outcomes are achieved and risks are minimised.
I am a registered coach and mentor with the North Wales Accelerated Growth Programme (AGP), run by Business Wales, where I am privileged to work with some of the region’s most dynamic and exciting companies. We support around 60 businesses a year via the AGP with short projects that address blockages to growth. Being invited to coach and mentor business leaders and owners in solving their problems is always an honour.
My style is often described as engaging, yet persuasive, which wins followers quickly wherever I work. No matter what the style, culture or local ‘traditions’ (I have learned three languages along the way). I adapt without ‘going native’, using the skills and experience of ‘local’ staff in a challenging yet supportive way to pursue agreed goals.
I joined HMG in early 2018 and am expanding the established portfolio of services, ensuring that we continue to provide unrivalled client service.
Outside of work
Most Saturdays I can be found watching at Alvanley Cricket Club, where I played for 25 years. Saturdays are special as I now watch players that I coached for many years as juniors.
I have four grown up children, have been married for 30+ years and enjoy walking our collie, Izzy, in the West Cheshire countryside. I have travelled extensively for 30 years with work, speak four languages and look forward to more travelling.
