Meet Carl Smith, Hillyer McKeown Trainee Solicitor in Commercial Property.
I work closely with other members of the commercial property team, drafting and negotiating leases and completing the sale and purchase of commercial property. I pride myself on providing clients with value for money, being helpful and responsive.
Having recently moved to the commercial property team as part of my training, I am very much enjoying this role particularly the variety of clients and diverse situations I am helping them with.
Prior to joining Hillyer McKeown, I worked in London as an accredited police station representative and gained considerable criminal law experience whilst studying for my LLB at the University of London. I completed my Legal Practice Course at Manchester BPP University in April 2018.
I have worked for Hillyer McKeown as part of the dispute resolution team since March 2016 where I gained extensive experience assisting clients with a broad spectrum of disputes. As of May this year I commenced my training contract with Hillyer McKeown. This is the final vocational stage before becoming a solicitor in England and Wales.
Outside of work
In my spare time outside work I enjoy watching rugby union, reading about history and politics, and spending time with my friends and family.
