Meet Nadia Oliveira, Hillyer McKeown Business Wills Advisor
Before anything else, I am a people person. Some describe me as a ‘super-connector’ as I have forged many lasting relationships which have been of mutual benefit to everyone involved. Having worked in top level insurance, accounting and now legal sectors I understand business owners’ needs. A combination of people skills, commercial knowledge and business acumen means my introductions and liaisons are meaningful.
Protecting your personal assets and business continuity
While working with the Wills and Probate team at Hillyer McKeown I have a golden opportunity to make sure business owners take care of their entire estate, and avoid their families being landed with a huge tax bill no-one wants. A Business Will does this by protecting both personal and business assets for any eventuality.
Having witnessed what can happen to unprotected assets when someone dies, I am driven to make sure others do not lose everything they have worked hard for. Putting the right planning in place offers complete protection, including for when someone is unexpectedly out of the business for a while, or loses capacity. Choosing to secure business continuity is especially beneficial for protecting a multi-generation family business, or people who have half- or step-relations.
Estate planning and asset protection can include:
- shareholder agreements
- Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)
- trust planning
- inheritance tax planning (avoiding families being hit with a hefty tax bill).
So, how do my ‘super-connector’ skills come into all this?
My natural energetic approach means I really get to know my clients; they receive everything they need, and nothing they don’t. In short, a clear understanding of their priorities means I set out Business Wills on their terms. No tick boxes here. Instead, I provide an individual service which creates peace of mind and a lasting legacy.
I am proud that I really connect with people and build strong business communities. These ties often lead on to referrals, and I am delighted to facilitate introductions which lead to success.
Outside of work
I am an artist in my spare time, I love to paint fan art mostly. I also enjoy boxing which is something I would like to do competitively.
